Pogba’s View on Tchouameni Amid Man United Transfer Links

Paul Pogba has provided insight into what Manchester United could expect if they sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid.

Tchouameni is reportedly a key target for the club to bolster their midfield. Real Madrid might consider offloading him if they can secure a suitable replacement, with Manchester City’s Rodri reportedly admired by club president Florentino Perez.

Pogba’s Praise for Tchouameni

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has first-hand experience playing alongside Tchouameni in the French national team. Pogba described Tchouameni in 2021 as being “very, very good” and not just a boy, but “a man”.

Speaking to RTL, Pogba said: “It’s a pleasure to play next to him. He brings a lot of energy. A lot of energy, extraordinary technical and physical quality. We wish him to play a lot more games and that I am always by his side.”

Their time together was limited, as Pogba has not played for France since 2022. Tchouameni, meanwhile, has become an important player in Didier Deschamps’ midfield.

Varane’s Experience at Old Trafford

Raphael Varane, who joined United from Real Madrid in 2021, has already shared his experiences of playing at Old Trafford with Tchouameni. Varane, having won 18 trophies during his time in Spain, turned down United earlier in his career.

Varane explained on The Bridge podcast with Tchouameni in March last year why he felt the time was right to move to Manchester. Despite an injury-hit spell, Varane said he has no regrets.

Varane told Tchouameni: “Madrid is indescribable, it’s exceptional, but I’ve already experienced it. And I said to myself, ‘I want to experience something else.’ For me, England, and Manchester in particular, is where you feel the passion for football. You feel it, you live it every day. Now that some time has passed, I have no regrets because it was an incredible experience.”

Manchester United will be hoping Varane’s words have a positive influence on Tchouameni as he considers his future.
