The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix have been cancelled due to the war in the Middle East. Formula 1 concluded it is not safe to hold either race because of the ongoing conflict across the region. The F1 season will be reduced to 22 races.
The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will not take place in April due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East region. Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 ACADEMY rounds will also not take place during their scheduled times. The decision has been taken in full consultation with the FIA and respective promoters.
Maria Sharapova made an appearance at Indian Wells to watch the women’s semifinals. She retired in 2020 and does not often attend tournaments. Sharapova won Indian Wells in 2006 and 2013.
