The Mystics will have a competitive matchup against the Dallas Wings, who are coming off a loss against the Minnesota Lynx.
The Wings roster includes Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers, both back-to-back No. 1 draft picks from UConn.
Alanna Smith and Jessica Shepard, two offseason additions to the Dallas roster, will present a tough challenge for the Mystics’ front court as well; Smith was a co-defensive player of the year in 2025.

Paige Bueckers, the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year, is currently averaging 20 points and five assists per game.

In their game against the Fever, the Mystics had to maintain composure.
Johnson said that the players will hear his voice when they are not composed, no matter the score.
Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen both achieved career-highs with 30 points and 25 points, respectively.
Newcomer’s Immediate Contribution
Cote McMahon made an immediate impact in her WNBA debut, scoring 13 points, grabbing five rebounds, and dishing out two assists after coming off the bench.
- McMahon is only the second player in Mystics history to finish with 10+ points and at least five rebounds in their debut outing.

Coach Johnson’s Perspective
Johnson believes the team is building an identity that started in training camp and last year.
“It’s a competitive group that trusts the confidence that they were taken from player development, from the film sessions and from being around each other and trying to put it in in in basketball games,” Johnson added.
