Serie A clubs have begun their transfer market activity, seeking signings to strengthen their squads. This comes as a coaching carousel livens up the post-season.
Juventus’ Changed Transfer Ambitions
Failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League has drastically changed Juve’s transfer ambitions as well as the club’s appeal. According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus tried to bring Andy Robertson to Turin.
However, the left-back, who is leaving Liverpool on a free transfer, chose to honour an agreement already reached in January with Spurs and has therefore signed for De Zerbi’s Tottenham.
Milan’s Interest in Gabriel Jesus
Several top European clubs have asked for information on Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus. Among them is Milan, who are looking for reinforcements for next season despite missing out on Champions League qualification.
Arsenal do not seem willing to offer any discount, and the asking price to let him leave would be £20 million, around €25 million. Milan are watching and waiting for developments.
Inter’s Transfer Targets
Inter are preparing to strengthen the squad for next season. Chivu’s Nerazzurri will keep the 3-5-2 next year as well and will need 3-4 signings in the market. Marco Palestra, the full-back currently at Cagliari and owned by Atalanta, is one of the club’s main targets.
Curtis Jones, Liverpool’s midfielder, is also among Inter’s targets. Other additions are also likely given the many commitments next season.
Napoli and De Bruyne’s Future
Kevin De Bruyne’s future will be at Napoli. The former Manchester City man is preparing to join up with his national team, while waiting to see how he will be used by new coach Massimiliano Allegri.
His contract with Napoli expires in a year and a half, but the last season was anything but easy. Napoli hope to have KDB back at his best after the World Cup, the kind of player capable of raising the team’s level also with the Champions League in mind.
Roma Eyeing Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood’s adventure at Marseille now seems destined to come to an end. The Englishman will leave OM at the end of the season despite his and his family’s desire to stay at the Velodrome. The push toward a sale is said to be mainly due to the delicate financial situation of the French club.
Roma are watching closely, with Greenwood one of Gasperini’s main targets for the summer market. Reportedly, the first contacts have brought an opening. Marseille, however, continue to ask for a fee.
With Serie A clubs actively pursuing transfer targets, the coming weeks promise further developments as teams prepare for the next season.
