Winn was involved in the single-car crash on Interstate 64 after hitting a walkoff single in the bottom of the 11th inning, securing a 2-1 victory for St. Louis. The Cardinals released a statement saying that the accident was due to wet pavement.
Winn was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Winn’s Condition
Local police, along with Cardinals security and medical staff, assisted Winn after the accident. He was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The team stated that Winn was found to have no serious injuries after being evaluated.
