Ducksch Dropped: Internal Matter Sidelines Birmingham Striker

Marvin Ducksch was absent from Birmingham City’s squad on Sunday because of an ‘internal matter’.

Chris Davies made the decision to leave him out.

Ducksch’s Absence Explained

Davies addressed the situation following the 2-0 victory over Wrexham at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.

“Marvin was (missing) today because of a decision of mine in terms of the selection of the squad,” Davies said.

He added, “It’s an internal matter which is currently being dealt with and that is, at this moment in time, all I can say.”

Uncertain Future for the Striker

Ducksch joined Blues from Werder Bremen last summer. He has two years remaining on his contract.

Rumours have started to rumble that he could depart when the transfer window re-opens.

Davies declined to confirm whether Ducksch, 32, will be considered for selection when Blues travel to Hull City next week.

“At this moment in time, we need to assess everything and see where we go,” added Davies.

Ducksch’s Season So Far

Ducksch is Blues’ top scorer this season with 11 goals across all competitions. He has made 35 appearances in all competitions in his first season with Blues.

The forward has recently lost his place in the attack to August Priske.

Davies’ decision raises questions about Ducksch’s future with the club.
