Landaluce’s recent victories include defeating Karen Khachanov, who is ranked 15th in the world. Before that, he beat Luciano Darderi, another top-20 player. He also overcame Marcos Giron after progressing through the tournament’s qualifying stage.
Landaluce is currently ranked 123rd. He reached a ranking of 111th in October.

While some may view Landaluce’s progress as slow compared to the meteoric rise of Carlos Alcaraz and the accelerated development of Rafa Jódar, his evolution is considered more natural. According to Miguel Díaz, Landaluce is very good and will bring joy. Díaz noted that Landaluce is progressing more slowly, but that this is normal.

Óscar Burrieza, Landaluce’s coach since he was 14, highlights his mental strength. Burrieza said that Landaluce is mature for his age and responsible. He added that Landaluce is willing to work and has mental balance.
Landaluce is set to face Sebastian Korda in the next round. Korda previously defeated Alcaraz.
