Marquez Fastest in Texas MotoGP Practice After FP1 Tumble

Marc Marquez ended Friday fastest at the Red Bull GP of the United States, despite a fast crash in FP1. The seven-time MotoGP Champion topped the timesheets at a venue he knows well. Ai Ogura was close behind, just 0.053 off the top spot.

Fabio Di Giannantonio took P3 on Friday, 0.187 off Marquez. Pedro Acosta topped the morning session, while Marc Marquez made headlines with his crash, but was uninjured.

There were nine crashes overall during the day. These included Diggia, Jorge Martin, two for Enea Bastianini, Franco Morbidelli, Ogura, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Alex Marquez in the first half hour. Brad Binder slid out late on.

Marquez and Ogura Set Late Laps

Marquez and Ogura both set their fastest laps late in the session. Marco Bezzecchi was forced to settle for fourth on Friday, only 0.013 off Diggia. Diggia had briefly topped the session before Marquez turned up the wick.

Alex Marquez slotted into fifth, with Acosta taking sixth. Martin, despite his crash, took seventh ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, Luca Marini and Bastianini. It’s Bastianini’s first time straight to Q2 since the 2025 Catalan GP, where he also took a podium on Sunday.

Mir Misses Q2, Binder Suffers Late Crash

Joan Mir just missed the cut in P11. Binder was further down the order in 19th after his late crash.
