Police in Greater Manchester are currently searching for a man who absconded from North Manchester Hospital. Marwan Jumaa, a 20-year-old, was serving a custodial sentence for assault when he left lawful custody. Greater Manchester Police reported that Jumaa had been transferred from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital for medical treatment.
The force has not shared information about the specific type of treatment Jumaa was supposed to be receiving. Officers confirmed that Jumaa, born October 18, 2005, is currently serving a custodial sentence for assault. This manhunt follows his abscondence, prompting a public appeal for information.
Manhunt Underway for Convict
Jumaa is described as black and of skinny build. He is around 5ft 10ins tall and has short dark hair. Police state he is believed to have links to several areas, including Bury, Prestwich, Crumpsall, Leeds, and London.
Members of the public are advised not to approach Jumaa if he is seen. Anyone who sees him is urged to call 999 immediately. The log number 3544 of 14/07/2026 should be quoted when contacting the police.
Appeal for Public Assistance
A spokesperson for GMP shared an appeal via social media for public assistance. Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Jumaa is asked to contact police on 101. Alternatively, individuals can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
