Fabrizio Romano: Man Utd Eyeing Ederson Transfer

Manchester United are considering a move for Atalanta defensive midfielder Ederson, according to Fabrizio Romano. The transfer guru has outlined why the Brazilian could be an ‘attractive’ signing for the Red Devils this summer.

United’s Midfield Restructure

Man Utd are planning to rebuild their midfield this summer. Casemiro is expected to leave, and Manuel Ugarte may also depart Old Trafford. The club have already identified potential signings, including Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.

Fabrizio Romano has now suggested Ederson as another possible target. Romano pointed out that Man Utd previously tracked the Brazil international when Ruben Amorim was linked with the manager’s job.

Atletico’s Stance on Ederson

Atletico Madrid have an agreement with Ederson on personal terms since February or March. However, they are unwilling to meet Atalanta’s €45 million (£39.2m) asking price. Atalanta are open to negotiation around €40m, but negotiating with them is never easy.

Premier League Interest

Premier League clubs are now showing interest in Ederson, according to Romano. If Atletico Madrid fail to finalise the deal, Premier League clubs could make a move. Man Utd have appreciated him previously.

Romano said Ederson could be an attractive option as his contract runs until 2027 and his salary is reasonable. A deal could be struck for a ‘normal price’ considering salary, commission, and transfer fee. However, Atalanta are firm on their €45m valuation.

Premier League clubs are attentive to Ederson’s situation after Atletico Madrid have an agreement with the player, but not yet with Atalanta.

Ederson could be a very good opportunity for Man Utd.
