James Maddison’s potential involvement in the upcoming match against Chelsea is uncertain.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Roberto De Zerbi revealed that he will discuss with James Maddison the extent of his role at Chelsea. This follows the midfielder missing a couple of days’ training after his comeback against Leeds.
Maddison’s Fitness Concerns
At the beginning of the week, James Maddison didn’t train due to a small problem.
However, Roberto De Zerbi added that “yesterday and today, James is working very well”.
De Zerbi clarified that Maddison is “not ready to play 90 minutes”. He intends to speak with him to make the best decision.
Solanke Still Sidelined
Dominic Solanke will remain sidelined for the Chelsea match.
He picked up a hamstring injury in the win at Wolves last month and has missed the last two games.
Roberto De Zerbi said he won’t risk the England international at Stamford Bridge because he “feels something” in his recovery process. He hopes Solanke can be available for “one part of the game” on Sunday.
Team Updates: Vicario Returns
Guglielmo Vicario is back available for selection after hernia surgery.
Roberto De Zerbi is set to decide whether to restore him to the team or stick with Antonin Kinsky in goal.
Xavi Simons, Cristian Romero, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert and Ben Davies remain out.
Roberto De Zerbi will speak with James Maddison to decide on his role for the Chelsea game.
