Luke Littler Wins Cardiff Darts, Spoiling Jonny Clayton’s Home Party

Luke Littler claimed victory in Cardiff, defeating Jonny Clayton 6-4 in the Premier League Darts final at the Utilita Arena.

Littler’s win was marked by a ‘Big Fish’ checkout of 170 to clinch victory in the semi-final against Gerwyn Price, and again in the final. The victory moves Littler into the top four.

Littler’s Route to Victory

Littler broke Clayton in the first leg of the final, but Clayton responded immediately, breaking back after Littler failed to check out 68. Clayton then took the lead with a bullseye finish.

The final reached its halfway point with the score tied at three legs each. Littler nearly achieved a nine-dart finish, but missed double 15, allowing Clayton to check out 41. Littler then broke Clayton for a second time to move within a leg of winning.

Littler sealed the win by checking out 52 with his last dart.

Clayton’s Performance and Table Standing

Clayton’s appearance in the final ensures he remains top of the table.

Clayton had earlier defeated Gian van Veen, recovering from a late fightback to win with his last dart. He then beat Luke Humphries 6-4 in his semi-final.

Other Matches in Cardiff

Luke Humphries lost to Michael van Gerwen 6-1. Price beat Stephen Bunting in a deciding leg in their semi-final.

Josh Rock’s average of 103.72 wasn’t enough to prevent a 6-4 defeat. Littler averaged 96.2 in his match against Rock.

Littler said he had to focus on himself to get the win.
