Lucas Brennan Set for UFC Debut After Accepting Eight Fights

Lucas Brennan is set to face Francis Marshall at UFC Vegas 116.

Brennan received a call a few days ago offering him the fight against Marshall at the Meta APEX. The 25-year-old prospect accepted the offer without hesitation.

Brennan has been training full-time at Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas since his win in October 2025, hoping for a call to join the UFC.

Eight Previous Offers Before Securing a Fight

Brennan said he didn’t know about the fight until Monday. Since October, he has been trying to get on every card. He has accepted calls on the day of weigh-ins.

Brennan stated that this is the eighth time he has been called to replace someone, and this time it has gone through. The fight is booked at 155 pounds even though they are both featherweights.

Brennan said short notice is crazy but he was expecting it. He got the call on Monday during practice.

Willingness to Accept Short-Notice Fights

Brennan was willing to jump on any chance to sign with the UFC, even accepting eight short notice fights. He was likely considering a spot on the next season of Dana White’s Contender Series if he didn’t get signed.

Brennan said he was happy to learn that Marshall also accepted the fight. He understands that people do not want to take short notice fights, but he was excited this one came through.

Brennan said Francis is a tough dude so it will be fun regardless.

Frustrations and Perseverance

Brennan received the most offers to accept a short notice fight during a three-month span to close out 2026. He admitted it was getting disheartening that he kept saying yes but the fights didn’t happen.

Brennan got back into training in case the UFC came calling again. He went home to Texas after the last card on Dec. 10 last year.
