Liverpool Face Goalkeeper Concerns Ahead of Crystal Palace Clash

Liverpool manager Arne Slot faces a goalkeeping dilemma ahead of their Premier League match against Crystal Palace. Alisson Becker may miss the game, as he has been sidelined for the Reds’ last six games due to injury. Giorgi Mamardashvili is unavailable after being stretchered off during the victory at Everton last weekend with a leg wound.

If Alisson is not deemed fit to return, Freddie Woodman will start against Palace. Woodman replaced Mamardashvili at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Slot confirmed that 21-year-old Armin Pecsi will be among Liverpool’s substitutes at Anfield this weekend.

Gomez Returns, Endo Still Out

Joe Gomez is available again after missing the Merseyside derby. Slot said that it was positive to have Gomez back in the squad, as he only had two centre-backs playing last week with no-one on the bench.

Wataru Endo remains sidelined with injury. Slot said that Endo is starting to go outside and do exercises on the pitch with the rehab team. He will not be available for Manchester United or the week after, with the hope that he will be back towards the end of the season.

Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni are long-term absentees.

Palace Could Regain Wharton, Clyne a Doubt

Crystal Palace may be boosted by the return of Adam Wharton, who missed their goalless draw with West Ham United on Monday. Eagles manager Oliver Glasner said that Wharton is fit and trained without any issues.

Glasner reported no new injury concerns, but Eddie Nketiah and Evann Guessand will miss this game. Nathaniel Clyne is a doubt. Clyne was ill, but then was better in the evening and is being assessed.

Cheick Doucoure is yet to play for Glasner’s side this season due to injury.

Liverpool will have to choose between Alisson or Woodman in goal, while Palace hope Clyne recovers in time for the match.
