Leeds United have identified Zian Flemming as a potential transfer target to strengthen their attacking lineup in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has scored 10 times this season, despite his club’s struggles, leading to increased interest in him.
Following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League, Leeds could capitalise on the situation to sign the forward for a lower fee.
Leeds Scouting Flemming
According to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, Leeds scouts have been monitoring Flemming throughout the season and have been impressed.
Daniel Farke is keen to add quality to his squad, and Flemming’s goalscoring record in the Premier League may persuade Leeds to accelerate their transfer plans.
Flemming a Potential Replacement for Piroe
It has been reported that Leeds could move to sign Flemming this summer as a replacement for Joel Piroe, who may leave the club.
Speculation surrounding several of Farke’s attacking options has prompted the club to assess their targets ahead of the transfer window, with multiple forwards being considered.
Flemming has demonstrated his ability to perform at Premier League level, and while he might not be Leeds’ top priority, he remains a target.
“Zian Flemming is a target for Leeds,” Brown stated.
“It’s not anything new, they’re not only having a look now that Burnley have gone down, they’ve had scouts keeping an eye on him throughout the season.
“They know they want to sign a new striker, they’ll have a priority option for that position, and then they’ll have options further down the list.
“That’s where I believe Flemming is, he’s on that list of targets but I would be surprised if he was the number-one option for Leeds.
“He’s had a terrific season, ten goals in the Premier League is nothing to be sniffed at, so he has impressed the clubs who have been watching him.
“But Leeds need a real top-class striker if they want to progress from where they are this season, so while Flemming is an option, I think they’ll look at others first.”
Other Striker Options for Leeds
Flemming is not the only striker Leeds are considering ahead of the summer transfer window, with a list of potential options being compiled.
Scouts have been assessing several possible targets to play alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin next season, following what has been a frustrating year in front of goal.
Leeds are also looking at Wilson Isidor and could make a move if he becomes available at Sunderland this summer.
The striker has been unable to secure a regular place in the starting XI and is considering his options ahead of the end of the season.
If Sunderland allow him to leave, he may look to remain in the Premier League, with Leeds among his suitors.
With Daniel Farke keen to add quality to his squad, the club are assessing multiple forward options ahead of the transfer window.
