Lee Grant is the new head coach of Walsall, the club has announced.
Grant, who previously managed Huddersfield Town, has agreed to a three-year contract with the Saddlers. The 43-year-old takes over at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
Grant Steps In After Byfield’s Interim Role
Grant’s appointment follows the departure of Mat Sadler in March. Darren Byfield, formerly a striker for Walsall, stepped in as interim head coach until the end of the season.
Walsall’s League Two Performance
Walsall’s season saw them finish in 13th place in League Two. They ended the campaign 13 points outside the play-off positions, a stark contrast to their position at Christmas when they were top of the table.
Grant will be looking to improve the team’s consistency next season.
