Antonin Kinsky believes Tottenham Hotspur can escape their current Premier League relegation battle. His 98th-minute save against Wolves was vital to their victory. The win bolstered belief within the squad that they can overhaul their two-point gap to safety.
Kinsky’s Crucial Save at Wolves
Kinsky modestly addressed his save during an interview. He acknowledged the importance of the moment, especially in the last minute. The save kept out a Joao Gomes free-kick.
Kinsky emphasised the value of the win at Wolves. Without those three points, their situation would be much more difficult. He noted that while they haven’t gained ground on their rivals, they haven’t fallen further behind either.
Belief Within the Spurs Squad
Kinsky stated that a positive mindset is essential for Tottenham to escape relegation. He believes everyone within the squad needs to have the goal of survival and believe it is achievable. He feels that belief is what will help them the most.
“It’s just positive,” says Kinsky, when asked how he sees the relegation battle. “I think if anyone from us would feel different, then there is no point of being within the squad.
“Where it all starts, it’s here. And if you don’t believe it, then you can’t achieve it. So this is the most important thing. OK, do your best to be prepared but, first of all, you need to have the goal and believe it. Otherwise everything is pointless.
“So I believe everyone is like this and I believe this is what’s going to help us a lot.”
De Zerbi’s Positive Impact
The arrival of Roberto De Zerbi has strengthened the team’s attitude. The new head coach has had a quick impact on the pitch and across the group. De Zerbi has lifted Kinsky and his team-mates.
Kinsky highlighted De Zerbi’s belief in the squad. He feels that De Zerbi’s message is that the quality is there. It’s about showing it, not just speaking about it, combined with the style.
With four games to go, the belief within the Spurs squad that they can rescue themselves from this precarious situation has been renewed.
