Isle of Man TT Races Delayed by Weather Conditions

The start of the Isle of Man TT has been pushed back due to adverse weather.

Low cloud and incoming rain showers have forced organisers to postpone the opening day of racing.

Saturday’s Racing Schedule Disrupted

The mountain section of the 37.7-mile course was closed at 09:00 BST as planned. Closures on the lower section were delayed initially, as organisers hoped for improved conditions.

However, the conditions deteriorated, leading to the cancellation of all race action on Saturday.

The first race of the meeting, the three-lap Superstock TT race 1, was scheduled to begin at 11:00 from Glencrutchery Road. It will now be rescheduled.

Sidecar Class Suspended

Saturday’s programme was reduced to a single race following the cancellation of the first sidecar race of the meeting. The class has been suspended from the 2026 event.

The suspension is on safety grounds. It follows a review of a crash during qualifying that left reigning sidecar champions Ryan and Callum Crowe in hospital.

Racing Set to Commence on Sunday

Racing at the 2026 Isle of Man TT is now scheduled to begin on Sunday. The schedule runs until 6 June, concluding with the six-lap Senior TT.
