Hull City Announce Membership Price Increase With Promotion Twist

Hull City has announced an increase in membership prices for the upcoming season, a decision owner Acun Ilicali says was necessary. The new prices, set to take effect from July 1, come with a unique condition tied to the club’s promotion aspirations.

Membership Price Changes

Adult memberships will start at £33 per month, marking a £3 increase from the current rate. The club will introduce three membership categories: adult, concession, and junior. Children between the ages of two and 15 will have a membership price of £8 per month, or £96 annually.

According to the club, the junior rate works out to just over £4 per Championship game, providing one of the best value ticket prices in the league. The Tigers are currently in the promotion mix with seven games remaining.

A key detail: membership prices will not increase should Sergej Jakirovic’s side secure promotion to the Premier League. If the club remains in the Championship, adult prices will equate to £17.21 per game, based on 23 home games. Should they be promoted, that price would rise to £20.84 per match, with 19 home matches in the top flight.

Acun Ilicali’s Statement

Acun Ilicali addressed fans, acknowledging the price increase was a difficult decision. He stated the club has worked hard to keep pricing as low as possible since he arrived four years ago. He also expressed pride in the club’s growing crowds, particularly the increase in young fans.

Ilicali explained that the decision to raise prices was driven by the likelihood of the Championship following the Premier League’s spending rules. He also cited the introduction of a new independent regulator aimed at ensuring a more sustainable future for British football. He said the club needs to act prudently to remain competitive, regardless of which league they are in.

“We don’t ask our fans to spend more lightly, this decision is one borne out of necessity and I would like to make it clear that every penny you spend with the club goes directly into ensuring we put together the best squad we possibly can, and that will always be the case for as long as I am responsible for this great club.”

Value for Members

Hull City are emphasising the additional value provided to members, including signing sessions and trips to Turkey. Other benefits include bowling events and cinema trips.

Ilicali added: “As an owner, there are imposed limits on how much I can financially support our club, so in order to have a competitive squad, we must look at all ways we can increase our revenue. Whilst our pricing wi

“Thank you for the fantastic support you have given us once again this season. The last 12 months have proven to me that Hull City really is a family, and together we have found strength in adversity. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, I am incredibly proud of our football club,”
