Al-Ahli Jeddah’s Matheus Gonçalves is set to miss the Saudi Roshen League match against Al-Fayha.
The match, brought forward from the 29th round, will be held at the Al-Majma’ah Sports City Stadium.
Gonçalves’ Exclusion Explained
Despite not being injured or suspended, Gonçalves has been excluded from the squad by German coach Matthias Jaissle.
According to the Saudi newspaper “Al-Yaum”, Jaisle fears that Gonçalves might receive a yellow card.
A yellow card would lead to Gonçalves missing the subsequent Roshen League match against Al-Nassr.
Upcoming Fixtures for Al-Ahli
Following the Al-Fayha clash, Al-Ahli will compete in the AFC Champions League.
They are scheduled to face Qatari side Al-Duhail next Monday at Al-Inmaa Stadium in Jeddah in the round of 16.
After the Asian Champions League match, Al-Ahli will return to Roshen League action.
Al-Ahli will face Al-Nassr on 28 April in the 30th round of the competition.
