Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama headline the Kia All-NBA team.
The NBA announced the league’s Kia All-NBA teams Sunday ahead of the Thunder meeting the Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Cade Cunningham, Luka Dončić and Nikola Jokić were named to the All-NBA First Team.
All-NBA First Team Selections
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Cade Cunningham, Luka Dončić and Nikola Jokić were named to the All-NBA First Team. The media voting panel selects players to the Kia All-NBA Teams without regard to position. Players are awarded five points for each vote to the First Team, three points for each vote to the Second Team and one point for each vote to the Third Team.
Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokić were named to the First Team on 100 out of 100 ballots, while Wembanyama was named First Team on 99 ballots.
Second and Third Team Choices
Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Donovan Mitchell were named to the Second Team. Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Duren were named to the Third Team. Brown was named to the First Team on 44 ballots, the most of any player outside the top five.
All the players on the Third Team made All-NBA for the first time.
All-NBA Team Milestones
Durant became the 12th player with 12 All-NBA selections.
Leonard is now a seven-time All-NBA pick, Brunson and Mitchell are now three-time selections and Brown made it for the second time.
Eligibility Requirements
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers was among those ineligible to get votes because he didn’t play in enough games, meaning this became just the second time in his 23-season career that he was not an All-NBA pick.
Also not eligible this year because of the 65-game rule: Golden State’s Stephen Curry and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo — whose streak of being listed on every All-NBA ballot for eight consecutive years ended.
