The Giants have shown interest in Ryan Bates, hosting the centre for a free agent visit on Monday.

Ryan Bates, aged 29, comes to the Giants after spending the last two seasons with the Bears.
Before his time with the Bears, Bates began his NFL career with the Bills in 2019, remaining in Buffalo for five seasons.
During his time with the Bills, he participated in 73 games, starting in 19 of them. This included 15 starts at left guard in 2022.

The Bears acquired Bates for a fifth-round pick in 2024.
He played 19 games with the Bears, starting twice, both in 2024.
Bates had two stints on injured reserve in 2024. These included shoulder and elbow issues early in the season and a concussion late in the season.
Giants’ Need for a Backup
The Giants are looking for a backup to support their starter, John Michael Schmitz Jr.
Bates’ visit suggests he is being considered for this role.
The Giants are exploring options to strengthen their offensive line depth with a player who has experience at multiple positions.
