The Giants have not yet announced a starter for the second game. They are considering starting Adrian Houser or opting for a bullpen game. Since they do not have an off-day until next Thursday, they will need to go to a bullpen game at some point.
Andrew Painter is scheduled to start Game 2 for the Phillies. He is 1-2 with a 5.25 ERA in four starts and five total appearances. In 24 innings, Painter has 21 strikeouts to six walks.
Roster Moves for Both Teams
Both teams are permitted to add a 27th player to the roster for the day, per the rules. The Giants have called up Trevor McDonald, a right-handed pitcher, from their AAA squad. The Phillies have called up Nolan Hoffman, a right-handed pitcher, from their AAA squad.
