France Eye Grand Slam, Scotland Game Seen as Key Hurdle

France are targeting a Grand Slam, but some believe the Scotland game is the biggest hurdle. They respect Scotland because they play like France, or try to.

France’s Rising Stars and Grand Slam Ambitions

France’s team includes young players such as Theo Attissogbe, Nicolas Depoortere, Louis Bielle-Biarrey, and Oscar Jegou. Fabien Galthie has given game-time to 10 players aged 23 and under in this Six Nations. France are expecting 15,000 fans in Edinburgh.

France are aiming to make it four wins out of four. They want to see if Bielle-Biarrey can score in his ninth consecutive Six Nations game. Les Bleus are looking to dominate Scotland with the same skill they displayed against Ireland, Wales and Italy.

France are winning games quickly. Last season they scored 30 tries when winning the title, and this season they have 18 already.

Pressure on France to Deliver

A title isn’t enough for France this time; it’s a Grand Slam or disappointment. Galthie has a dream team but heaps of pressure, too. France expects, and Galthie might be in serious trouble if the fans don’t get what they want this time.

France only have one Slam in 15 years. Midi Olympique warns that while the opportunity is real, so is the danger.

Scotland’s Challenge

Townsend’s team have won five of 13 games against France. That would have been six had it not been for the Sam S.

When Scotland nail it, nobody is safe.

Galthie’s Complaints

Galthie complained about the size of the Murrayfield away dressing room. Some of his players will have to change in the corridor, Galthie whinged.

France expects and if the fans don’t get what they want this time then Galthie might be in serious trouble.
