Several golfers are making equipment changes during the RBC Heritage, even with the PGA Tour season already four months old.
Fleetwood and Fowler Tweak Their Setups
Tommy Fleetwood is using new TaylorMade Spider putters. These putters are similar to his previous models but feature a new style. Fleetwood’s putter includes two parallel milled lines and a dot as an alignment aid, replacing his Sharpie lines.
Rickie Fowler is using a different driver this week, a Cobra Optm Max-K. He had been using the Optm LS, which stands for low-spin. The Max-K is more forgiving and still has a Mitsubishi Diamana WB 73 TX shaft.
TaylorMade Spider Putters Gain Popularity
The TaylorMade Spider range of putters has seen increased use on the PGA Tour in 2026. Rory McIlroy used one for his Masters win. Jacob Bridgeman, Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa and Chris Gotterup also use the Spider putters.
Pierceson Coody is using the new TaylorMade Spider Tour F, which he put in play at the Valspar Championship.
Cantlay Switches to Titleist GTS Driver
Patrick Cantlay, an equipment-free agent, switched to the new Titleist GTS range at the start of the week. He had been using a Ping G440 LST. Cantlay fired a seven-under 64 on Friday at Harbour Town Golf Links, moving himself into contention and five back of leader, Matt Fitzpatrick, who is 14-under.
The GTS range was launched at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. Cantlay is believed to be the first player to use the GTS4 version. Most players have been using the GTS2 and GTS3, like Robert MacIntyre, who is eight-under at the RBC Heritage.
Hall’s Driver Troubles Continue
Harry Hall has made a fifth driver swap of 2026. His problems with the big stick continued at The Masters where, following the first round, he opted to put two drivers in-play to help his woes off the tee. He’s used a TaylorMade Qi4D Core and Qi4D LS, a Titleist GT3 and GTS 3, as well as a Ping G440 LST in a four-month stretch.
Fowler Seeks Strong Performance
Fowler is looking for a strong performance after missing out on The Masters last week. He is currently in a logjam at eight-under, alongside seven other players.
Players continue to adjust their equipment setups as the season progresses.
