Florida’s offense erupted with four home runs to defeat Arkansas 8-6, after a slow showing the previous day. The Gators doubled their hit total from Friday within the first three innings. The team achieved its highest hit total in SEC play, recording 16 hits.
Grover and Comia Find Their Stride
Kendall Grover, who had been struggling with a hitless streak in her last six games, rediscovered her form. Grover finished with two hits and two runs. Gabi Comia, who had been 0-17 in her last 17 at-bats, also found her stride, recording three hits.
Home Run Barrage Leads the Charge
Arkansas initially took the lead with a home run from Brinili Bain. Grover responded with a double, followed by Ella Wesolowski’s home run, putting Florida ahead 3-1. Grover later added another home run. Cassidy McLellan also contributed with a two-run home run, extending Florida’s lead to 7–1.
Razorbacks’ Attempted Comeback Falls Short
Katelynn “Red” Oxley started in the circle, pitching 4.1 innings. Olivia Miller entered the game with the bases loaded in the fifth. After a review overturned an apparent double play, Arkansas capitalised. Brinili Bain followed with an RBI single, and Dakota Kennedy lined a bases-clearing double, narrowing the deficit to two. Atalyia Rijo hit a leadoff homer off Keagan Rothrock, further cutting into Florida’s lead.
UF will look for its first series win in Fayetteville since 2017 in the rubber match on Sunday.
