Fantasy Basketball: Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 19

With Week 19 of the fantasy basketball season upon us, managers face crucial decisions as the trade deadline looms and playoffs either underway, imminent, or just two weeks away.

Yahoo Fantasy’s Dan Titus has identified potential waiver wire pickups to bolster your roster.

Final Trade Deadline Approaching

For those in Yahoo default leagues, the trade deadline is this Thursday. This is the last opportunity to make changes to your roster before the playoffs.

Recommended Pickups for Week 19

Several players are highlighted as potential pickups across leagues.

  • One player has exceeded 44 fantasy points in three of his last four games. With Zach LaVine out for the season, this rookie is expected to continue providing stocks, rebounds, and assists. If his shot falls, he could have league-winning potential.
  • Derrick Jones Jr. is another name to consider in deeper leagues. He is under 10% rostered, which is considered too low given injuries to Chris Dunn and John Collins. He’s been a top 150 player over the last month, offering scoring, threes, and stocks. Expect a boost at the start of the week, with the Clippers having a favourable schedule.
  • Pella Larsson of the Miami Heat is also mentioned. With Norm Powell week-to-week with a groin injury and Tyler Herro working his way back from a toe injury off the bench, Larsson could have a role for the Miami Heat going forward. He’s made 18 starts this year, averaging 13 points, five boards, and four assists.

Miami Heat’s Promising Duo

Pella Larsson and Caleb Ware are noted as clicking and “really rocking” for the Miami Heat team.

Fantasy managers are advised to take notice.

Looking Ahead to Week 20

With Week 19 underway, the focus shifts to making those final roster adjustments for a strong playoff push.

Week 20 is just around the corner.
