Falkirk and Rangers face off in a match with consequences for the Scottish Premiership title race.
Rangers are currently third and need a win against Falkirk to move back into second place, one point behind Hearts.
Team Lineups Announced
John McGlynn, the Falkirk manager, has made one change to the team that won 3-2 away to Motherwell. Coll Donaldson comes into central defence, with Leon McCann moving to the bench and Filip Lissah switching to left back. McGlynn has opted for continuity against Rangers.
Falkirk: Bain, Adams, Henderson, Donaldson, Spencer, Broggio, Yeats, Stewart, Tait, Lissah, Miller.
Substitutes: Hogarth, McCann, Graham, Neilson, Ross, Cartwright, Allan, Wilson, Parkinson.
Rangers head coach Danny Rohl has made four changes from the side that beat Dundee United last weekend. Captain James Tavernier returns at right-back, replacing Dujan Sterling. Emmanuel Fernandez also comes into central defence, with John Souttar dropping to the bench.
On the flanks, Djedi Gassama comes in for Andreas Skov Olsen, while Youssef Chermiti replaces the injured Ryan Naderi, who is expected to miss the rest of the title run in. Mikey Moore starts, despite concerns over the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur winger’s fitness.
Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Djiga, Fernandez, Meghome, Raskin, Chukwuani, Gassama, Moore, Aasgaard, Chermiti.
Substitutes: Kelly, Souttar, Aarons, Barron, Diomande, Antman, Skov Olsen, Bajrami, Miovski.
Premiership Title Race Heats Up
Rangers find themselves in this position after Hearts and Celtic both secured wins on Saturday.
At one stage on Saturday, it appeared Rangers would be heading to Falkirk with a chance to overtake Hearts at the top of the Premiership. However, Hearts’ three goals in the last half hour against Motherwell ensured they would go into the five post-split fixtures having led since September.
Rangers are one of the Premiership’s draw kings and would have been clear at the top if they had taken three points from some of the 12 out of 32 games that have finished level.
Falkirk’s Home Form
None of Falkirk’s last eight home league games have been drawn. The Bairns have won four and lost four since a goalless meeting with Motherwell in December. Two of the games they have drawn this season were against Rangers.
Radio Coverage Available
The build-up to today’s kick-off has commenced on BBC Radio Scotland. Former Falkirk winger and manager Ian McCall and ex-Rangers midfielder and coach Kevin Thomson are providing analysis, joining host Richard Gordon and match commentator Alasdair Lamont.
Rangers’ last draw away to Falkirk was in October. After that match, Russell Martin needed a police escort as he left the stadium in what proved to be his last game as head coach. Danny Rohl is now head coach.
The match is a crucial one in the climax to what has already been a thrilling Scottish Premiership season.More Sports News
