Derion Kendrick, the former Rams cornerback, has found a new home. According to his agent, Kendrick is signing a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
Kendrick’s Journey Through the League
Kendrick’s recent career has been somewhat turbulent. The Rams waived him at final cuts last year. He was then picked up by the Seahawks, only to return to L.A. in Week 14.
A sixth round pick of the Rams in 2022 out of Georgia, Kendrick started six games as a rookie, then 12 games in year two. But his inconsistency and penchant for costly penalties led to him being an afterthought on the depth chart and then a torn ACL cost him all of 2024.
Kendrick failed to make the team in 2025 and spent 10 games with Seattle prior to being let go by the Seahawks and returning to L.A.. He played 5 games with the Rams but was not on the active roster in the playoffs.
Rams Move in a New Direction
The Rams have already moved in a new direction at cornerback in the offseason. This signalled ahead of time that L.A. was parting ways with any corners who were unsigned.
The Rams have moved on by adding Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson at corner in the offseason, a new era for the secondary in 2026.
This move marks a new chapter for Kendrick in Dallas.
