Dele Alli Back at Tottenham: Training and Future Prospects

Dele Alli is back at Tottenham Hotspur, training independently at the club. The 29-year-old midfielder has been granted access to Tottenham’s facilities as he works on his fitness, while also considering his next club.

Alli has been sharing clips of his training sessions at the club’s academy on social media.

Alli’s Spurs Legacy and Recent Struggles

Before departing in 2022, Dele Alli made 269 appearances for Spurs, scoring 67 goals over seven years. He recently attended the north London derby against Arsenal in February as a special guest.

Since leaving Tottenham, Alli has faced challenges in establishing himself at other clubs, including Everton and Besiktas, due to fitness and form issues.

  • He played 369 minutes in 13 appearances for Everton between 2022 and 2024.
  • During his loan spell at Besiktas between 2022 and 2023, he scored three goals in 15 appearances, playing 830 minutes.

Alli’s time at Serie A club Como was brief. He made just one appearance as an 81st-minute substitute against AC Milan, and was sent off for a challenge on midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Free Agent Status and Potential Future Plans

As a free agent, Dele Alli is eligible to be signed outside of the standard transfer windows.

During his career, Dele played 19,150 minutes at Spurs. He played 6,514 minutes at MK Dons.

A Tottenham Return on the Cards?

While a return to Tottenham is considered unlikely, it remains a possibility depending on who the club’s permanent manager is in the summer. The club have clarified that Alli is training individually and have not indicated anything about a trial.

Dele Alli has been without a club since September 2025, following the termination of his contract with Serie A club Como.
