Curtis Jones Injury Update: Liverpool Midfielder Set to Miss PSG Clash

Curtis Jones is expected to miss Liverpool’s match on Tuesday evening. The midfielder sustained an injury against Fulham on Saturday.

Jones’ Groin Issue Forces Substitution

Jones was withdrawn at half-time during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Fulham at Anfield. He required treatment just prior to the interval.

Speaking after the match, head coach Arne Slot confirmed Jones had felt a groin issue. He is likely to be absent for the Champions League quarter-final second leg versus Paris Saint-Germain.

“He felt a little bit his groin. It wasn’t the moment – he felt it already for a few minutes,” Slot told Sky Sports.

“So, let’s hope for the best but I would be surprised if a player who comes off that he’s available for Tuesday.”

Alisson Becker’s Continued Absence

In his press conference, Slot also revealed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker will remain sidelined for the meeting with PSG.

“Tuesday I don’t expect him. He’s not training with the team yet,” said Slot.

“But he’s working very hard on his recovery, so we hope to have him back in the near future. But he doesn’t train with the team yet, so he will not be performing [on] Tuesday.”
