Cristiano Ronaldo Returns to Al Nassr Lineup After Injury

Cristiano Ronaldo is back for Al Nassr after a spell on the sidelines.

The Portugal forward has been named in Al Nassr’s starting lineup for their Saudi Pro League game against Al Najma on Friday. He returns after spending more than a month out with a hamstring injury.

Ronaldo’s Injury Layoff

Ronaldo, 41, limped off the pitch in Al Nassr’s 3-1 league win over Al Fayha on Feb. 28. Coach Jorge Jesus subsequently said that it was a “more serious injury” than they were expecting.

He spent time in Spain receiving treatment.

As well as missing three league games for his club, Ronaldo was also unable to join up with Portugal for pre-World Cup friendlies against Mexico and the United States.

Al Nassr’s Title Chase

Al Nassr go into Friday’s game three points clear of Al Hilal at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings. Ronaldo is chasing his first major title since moving to Saudi Arabia in December 2022.

He is third in the race for the league’s golden boot, four goals behind Al Ahli’s Ivan Toney.
