Corey Perry will not be leaving the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings forward has told the team he plans to remain, according to NHL insider Frank Seravalli.

Perry’s Current Contract and Future Extension

Perry signed a one-year, $2-million contract with the Kings in the off-season. The contract includes a no-trade clause.

Seravalli reported that the Kings and Perry will discuss a contract extension after Friday’s 3 p.m. ET deadline passes.

Perry’s Performance This Season

In his first season with the Kings, Perry has played 49 games. He has contributed 11 goals and 17 assists.

Kings’ Playoff Hopes and Injuries

The Los Angeles Kings are five points out of a wild-card berth in the Western Conference. The team acquired Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers just ahead of the Olympics.

However, the Kings have suffered some setbacks. Kevin Fiala is out for the season with an injury sustained in Milan.

Andrei Kuzmenko is listed as week-to-week after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus. Joel Armia was placed on injured reserve Monday with an upper-body injury.
