Contepomi stated that England’s celebrations in the changing room next door showed a “lack of respect.” He had previously asked an England representative to stop the noise of the music and celebrations.

The accusation of a “lack of respect” came after a chaotic match played in Santiago del Estero. In the final moments of the game, Argentina were denied a try by the television match official, which added to the tension of the encounter.
England had established a significant lead during the first half, cruising to a 19-3 advantage at half-time. However, Argentina, who wore replicas of the football team’s 1986 World Cup kit, mounted a fightback in the second half.
England’s Disciplinary Issues
The second half saw England’s discipline come under scrutiny, with four of their players receiving yellow cards after the break. Former scrum-half Matt Dawson commented on the situation, describing England’s discipline as “verging on comical.”
