Chris Mack has resigned from his position as head men’s basketball coach at College of Charleston. The school announced Mack is set to take on the same role at the University of South Florida.
Mack’s Tenure at Charleston
Mack’s time with the Cougars spanned two seasons. During his tenure, he achieved an overall record of 45-20. The Cougars last made the NCAA Tournament in 2024, never appearing in the postseason tournament during Mack’s tenure.
Reactions to Mack’s Departure
Athletic director Matt Roberts issued a statement regarding Mack’s departure. “We are grateful for Chris and his leadership the past two seasons at the helm of our men’s basketball program. We wish him, Christi and their family nothing but the best on their next journey,” Roberts said.
Search for a Replacement
Roberts also noted the College of Charleston’s commitment to maintaining its tradition of success. The programme ranks among the top 10 all-time in Division I winning percentage. The school has announced that Collegiate Sports Associates will assist in a national search to find Mack’s successor.
