Casemiro Wins Manchester United Player of the Month for April

Casemiro has scooped Manchester United’s Player of the Month prize for April.

The Brazilian was in terrific form for the Reds across the month, helping them to big wins over Chelsea and Brentford.

He popped up with a goal against Brentford and when they were beaten by Leeds United at Old Trafford, in the first of their three April fixtures.

Teary as he left the field against Brentford last time out, our no.18 is having quite the impact ahead of his summer departure, and is a deserving recipient of the award.

Casemiro’s Impact on the Pitch

Casemiro loves a headed goal, and we love watching him score them! Sixteen of his 26 United efforts have been headers…

It all began as he nodded home against Leeds, with Bruno Fernandes once again the provider as we pushed to wipe out the visitors’ eventually decisive advantage on the scoreline.

Shining away to Chelsea was also on the agenda, as he superbly anchored our midfield alongside Kobbie Mainoo, en route to a big three points at Stamford Bridge.

But saving the best till last, Case opened the scoring in fine fashion as we beat Brentford recently, netting yet another powerful header.

It wasn’t just his goals that had an impact, however, with his defensive efforts, experience and game management extremely vital in those latter stages against the Bees.

The Voting Breakdown

In our Player of the Month poll, Casemiro grabbed 44 per cent of the votes cast by supporters on ManUtd.com and in the United App.

Second was none other than captain fantastic, Fernandes, as he gained 38 per cent of the tally overall, with Mainoo finishing third on 19 per cent.

Cunha Wins Goal of the Month

Our other monthly award winner can also be declared, with Matheus Cunha scooping the prize for his effort against Chelsea.

Fending off competition from Benjamin Sesko’s strike against Brentford and Casemiro’s two goals, the Brazilian dominated the polling.

We round things off by saying congratulations to both our winners for April – let’s hope for more joy on Sunday against Liverpool!
