Bryson Tiller Transfers to Missouri After Kansas Stint

Bryson Tiller is switching sides in the Border War. The 6-foot-11 forward announced his commitment to Missouri on Tuesday morning. Tiller previously played for Kansas.

Tiller Chooses Missouri After Multiple Visits

Tiller’s decision comes after a visit with Mizzou on Sunday. He chose the black and gold over several other high-major teams. Reportedly, these included Michigan, Georgia Tech, NC State, Arizona and Miami.

Tiller visited the Hurricanes on Friday and Saturday. He was scheduled to visit Arizona on Wednesday but cancelled the trip instead.

Recruitment and Scouting Report

Tiller was rated as the No. 20 prospect in the Class of 2025. He held an offer from Mizzou before reclassifying to join the Jayhawks a semester early on Jan. 6 while rehabbing an ankle injury. After redshirting the year, the Atlanta native became a full-time starter for Kansas, averaging 7.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.

Adam Finkelstein, 247Sports Director of Scouting, provided a scouting report on Tiller out of high school. Finkelstein noted Tiller’s physical measurements, including a 6-foot-10 height with a 7-foot-3 wingspan and 9-foot-3 standing reach. He added that Tiller’s frame is sculpted and powerful.

Finkelstein’s report continued, stating Tiller is comfortable in the mid-post, often choosing to face-up. He is consistently able to score over top of contesting defenders in that mid-range area. Finkelstein added that Tiller has shooting touch that is starting to extend out to the arc with more consistency, is a big screener, and a tough match-up in two-man games because of the increasing versatility to roll or pop.

The report concluded that Tiller is a fundamentally sound and generally reliable team defender, with adequate lateral mobility for his size.

Joining Mizzou’s Roster

The soon-to-be sophomore was ranked as the No. 35 player available in the transfer portal. He joins a Mizzou transfer class that also features Tennessee big man Jaylen Carey and Providence wing Jamier Jones. The trio will add to an MU frontcourt that currently has Trent Pierce, Toni Bryant, Trent Burns, Nicholas Randall and Luke Northweather in the fold.

Dennis Gates and his staff still have a few holes on the roster left to fill this offseason.
