Bronny James has been reassigned to the G League. The Los Angeles Lakers announced the move on Friday.
This happened just three days after he was briefly recalled to the active roster ahead of the team’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
James’ Season So Far
James declared for the NBA draft in 2024 after one season at USC. The Los Angeles Lakers selected the guard in the second round with the 55th overall pick.
His rookie campaign has been largely developmental, with the Lakers splitting his time between the NBA roster and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. He has appeared in just 27 NBA games. Through 32 NBA games, James has averaged 2.1 points, 0.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 39.7% from the field and 41.4% from 3-point range in 7.0 minutes per game.
In 11 regular season G League games, he has averaged 15.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 54.5% from the field and 42.6% from beyond the arc.

Lakers’ Victory Over Bulls
James was not part of the Lakers’ active lineup when the team hosted the Chicago Bulls. Los Angeles leaned heavily on its star core.
The Lakers defeated the Bulls 142-130, extending their winning streak to four games. Luka Doncic led the way with 51 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Austin Reaves added 30 points and Deandre Ayton contributed 23 points and 10 rebounds. LeBron James finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the victory.
Looking Ahead
The Lakers hold the third-best record in the Western Conference. The team appears to be hitting its stride as the regular season enters its final stretch.
Los Angeles will next host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday before beginning a five-game road trip Monday against the Houston Rockets.
