Brewers Exploit Cubs’ Error for Early Lead at Wrigley Field

David Hamilton capitalised on a significant error to propel the Brewers to an early lead at Wrigley Field. What started as a routine single quickly turned into a chaotic scoring play, highlighting both the Brewers’ aggressive play and the Cubs’ struggles.

Hamilton’s Speed and Crow-Armstrong’s Misplay

In the second inning, David Hamilton hit a base hit to center field. However, Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong misplayed the ball. It rolled all the way to the wall, allowing Hamilton to circle the bases for a Little League home run. Three runs scored on the play, giving Milwaukee an early 3-0 lead.

It marked the second straight day Crow-Armstrong was charged with a costly misplay in center.

Hamilton’s speed was a key factor in the play. He needed just 5.04 seconds to get down the line to first base and 10.03 seconds total to come all the way around and score.

Brewers Aim for Series Sweep

The moment perfectly summed up a brutal start for the Cubs and an aggressive one for the Brewers. The Brewers entered the afternoon looking to complete a sweep at Wrigley.
