Boston Celtics: NBA Announces Potential Game 7 Start Times

The NBA has announced three potential start times for the Celtics-76ers series if Philadelphia pulls off another upset in Game 6.

The Celtics will do whatever they can to avoid a Game 7.

Possible Game 7 Times at TD Garden

The NBA announced a potential Game 7 against the 76ers at TD Garden will start at either 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m., or 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night. The start time will be dependent on the results of the Hawks-Knicks and Wolves-Nuggets matchups. All of those teams will be playing Game 6s on Thursday night.

Here’s the full scenario for game times for the Celtics if they don’t win Game 6.

  • If Sixers, Nuggets and Hawks all win Game 6: Celtics-Sixers gets 1:30 p.m. start
  • If Nuggets and Sixers win Game 6 and Knicks close out series against Hawks in six games: Celtics-Sixers gets 4 p.m. start
  • If Hawks and Sixers win Game 6 and Wolves close out series in six games: Celtics-Sixers gets 7:30 p.m. start
  • If Sixers win and Knicks, Wolves close out their series in six games: Celtics-Sixers gets 7:30 p.m. start

Celtics Could Play Saturday Even With Game 6 Win

It is all possible that the Celtics will play on Saturday night even if they win on Thursday night against the Sixers to wrap up their series. If the Knicks and Wolves also wrap things up on Thursday night, the Celtics will host the Knicks for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night at TD Garden.

Celtics Lead Series 3-2

The Celtics hold a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series entering Game 6. Boston have won both road games in the series so far but only one of those came with Joel Embiid back in the lineup.

The Celtics are heading into Game 6.
