Bianca Andreescu Falls in Austin 125 Final Against Tararudee

Bianca Andreescu was defeated in the final of the Austin 125, despite a promising week. The Canadian lost against world No. 124 Lanlala Tararudee of Thailand.

Andreescu’s Ranking to Rise

The final score was 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The Austin 125 tournaments are the lowest level of tour events.

Andreescu’s ranking has slipped to No. 165 after several injury-plagued seasons. She has played mostly smaller events this year in an effort to get back into more main draws.

The result this week will move Andreescu up to No. 146 next week.

Indian Wells and Miami Open

The 25-year-old got a wild card into the BNP Paribas Masters in Indian Wells, Calif. last week. She lost in the first round.

Andreescu is scheduled to play a Miami Open qualifying match on Sunday.

Looking Back to 2019

Andreescu reached No. 4 in the rankings in 2019. That year, she won the U.S. Open, along with two other tournaments.
