Bayern Munich Reject Liverpool’s €170m Olise Bid: ‘He’s Not For Sale’

Bayern Munich have reportedly decided against selling Michael Olise to Liverpool, even if Arne Slot’s side were to offer €170million (£147m) for the winger.

Liverpool are thought to be keen on signing a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. Michael Olise has been mentioned as a potential target to replace Salah in the summer of 2026.

Bayern’s Stance on Olise’s Future

German journalist Christian Falk has reported that Bayern Munich will not sell Olise this summer. Falk stated that Bayern don’t care about potential outside interest in Michael Olise and that “He’s not for sale.” He added that even with a bid of €170m, Bayern Munich would refuse, saying, “Keep your money, and we’ll keep Olise.”

Olise, who moved to Bayern for £50million in the summer of 2024, has become a key player for the German side. The 24-year-old has scored 42 goals and provided 53 assists in 106 matches for Bayern. He has also won back-to-back Bundesliga titles under manager Vincent Kompany.

Club President Affirms Olise’s Importance

Bayern president Herbert Hainer has publicly stated the club’s desire to retain Olise. Hainer said, “We absolutely want to keep him.” He highlighted Olise’s development at Bayern, saying he was given the chance to prove himself in a top international team. Hainer also pointed out Bayern’s strong attack and the opportunity for Olise to win titles every year, stating, “I see no reason why he should look elsewhere.”

Kompany’s High Praise for Winger

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany has also praised Olise’s abilities. In mid-April, Kompany said, “We see him every day and he does it at the highest level in the Champions League.” He added, “He’ll surely be one of the best in the world one day. He’s on the right track now. Everything he does is right. His level now is one of the best in Europe.”

Kompany noted that while Olise is performing at a high level, he needs to continue his progress to achieve even greater success. “He needs to keep going as he’s done over the last 18 months. If he keeps going, we’ll see what becomes of him,” Kompany said.

Olise is under contract at Bayern until the summer of 2029.
