Arsenal Target Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali After Title Win

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta reportedly wants the club to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United. This follows Arsenal’s Premier League title win. Italian website TuttoJuve claims Tonali ‘wants to leave’ St James’ Park in the summer.

Arsenal’s Interest in Tonali

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their midfield. They brought in Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard last year. Now, Tonali is reportedly one of Arsenal’s top targets.

Newcastle could be ‘forced to raise funds’ to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules. Arsenal are ‘interested’ in taking Tonali off their hands.

Newcastle’s Asking Price

Arsenal and Manchester United have ‘already been informed of the financial demands required to begin negotiations’. Newcastle have set an asking price of €80m (£69m) for Tonali.

Newcastle management reportedly has ‘no intention of selling the Italian midfielder’. He is considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Newcastle are aware that any offers from Arsenal and Manchester United could turn into an auction.

Arteta’s View of Tonali

Mikel Arteta reportedly sees the Italian as a perfect addition to Arsenal’s midfield. He believes Tonali would add intensity, balance, and leadership.

Tonali’s Response to Transfer Rumours

Tonali said in April that interest comes from playing well. “In football if you play well you have to deal with the transfer rumours, but if you concentrate 100% on your game, and you’re happy, you don’t have to think about anything or speak about anything.”

The Italy international insists that since ditching social media he feels much better about life. “I don’t look at social media, I don’t like it. After my ban, I changed everything with social media, I just go to training and then go home and be with my family.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta sent a message to Gunners supporters after the club ended their long wait to win a Premier League title on Tuesday.
