The University of Arizona’s decision to alter the seating arrangements at the Casino Del Sol Stadium has sparked frustration among its fanbase.
Home Bench Move Causes Uproar
Starting this football season, the home bench will be relocated from the east sideline to the west sideline. The University of Arizona stated that this change necessitated the relocation of their football player family and guest section, affecting 40 season ticket holder accounts. No seats were removed from the venue.
However, the announcement has not been well-received by some fans.
Season Ticket Holders Voice Concerns
Several season ticket holders have expressed their dissatisfaction with the changes, saying they were only recently informed about the relocation. While alternative seats have been offered, some fans report that these new seats come at a higher cost.
John Siegel, a long-time season ticket holder, voiced his concerns. “There ought to be a place that we can get tickets or get seats that are comfortable and workable for everybody,” Siegel said.
End of an Era for Some Fans
Siegel, who has held the same seats for over 40 years, is disappointed about being separated from fellow fans he has grown close to. “You’re kind of a family, you know. And then everyone is just going to be torn up,” Siegel stated.
After decades of attending Wildcats games, Siegel is now considering not renewing his tickets for the next season.
