The WNBA’s 30th season tipped off on Friday, and Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings marked the occasion by debuting a new sneaker. Ogunbowale, known for her style both on and off the court, sported a Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE. She and Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever have been leaders of the Kobe line in the WNBA.
Ogunbowale developed a bond with Kobe Bryant following her championship-winning buzzer beater at Notre Dame, a connection that grew after she began her WNBA career.
Arike Ogunbowale’s New Kobe 6 Protro PE
Ogunbowale is familiar with Kobe PEs. Last year, she wore a pink and silver Kobe 5 PE. This season, she has taken the Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE in a different direction, opting for a Texas Rattlesnake-style theme.
The Nike Kobe 6 Protro Arike Ogunbowale PE goes all in on the snake aesthetic. It uses a faux-snakeskin upper. The base is a sandy brown, flaked with darker shades of brown throughout.
Design Details of the Kobe 6 PE
The black Swoosh blends into the myriad of spots, like a snake hiding. Tan marks the heel. The TPU heel counter is highlighted in a deep brown.
A yellowish-tan shade makes up the Cushlon midsole, complementing the tonal brown colourway. A brown outsole completes the design.
Release Information
It is not known if Arike Ogunbowale’s Nike Kobe 6 PE will be released to the public. However, the colourway and theming could make it a fitting release.
