Amad Diallo Endorses Michael Carrick for Man Utd Manager Role

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has thrown his weight behind Michael Carrick, the club’s interim boss, as a potential permanent manager.

Carrick stepped in as interim manager in January following the departure of Ruben Amorim. Since then, Manchester United have achieved seven wins and suffered just one defeat in 10 games under Carrick’s leadership.

Diallo’s Strong Support for Carrick

Speaking from the club’s training camp in the Republic of Ireland, Diallo expressed his confidence in Carrick. “From a personal view he’s the right man,” stated the Ivory Coast international.

Diallo emphasised Carrick’s extensive experience, deep understanding of the club, and inherent DNA. “He has a lot of experience; he knows the club and has the DNA,” Diallo said. “His relationship with every player is very good. Sometimes this kind of manager can bring the club where they belong.”

Diallo acknowledged that the final decision rests with the club’s hierarchy. “It’s not the players who decide but my honest opinion is we’re really happy to have Michael Carrick as a manager.”

Carrick’s Impact on the Team

While player support for a manager isn’t unusual, the performances on the pitch suggest a deeper connection between Carrick and the squad. Striker Bryan Mbeumo also shared his positive experiences working with Carrick. “We’ve got good experience with him,” Mbeumo said.

Mbeumo highlighted Carrick’s communication skills and understanding of the club. “He knows how to talk to us and we’re going to try to take as much as we can from him. It’s been easier because he knows the place. It’s been great to work under him.”

United’s Managerial Decision

Manchester United’s hierarchy have indicated they won’t rush into appointing a permanent manager. The club is likely to wait until the end of the season before making a final decision.

The field of potential candidates has narrowed, with Thomas Tuchel committing to England and Roberto de Zerbi joining Tottenham. As of now, United’s hierarchy are yet to speak to any alternatives.

With seven matches remaining, United need four wins and a draw to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-year absence.

Performances on the field suggest the relationship with Carrick and his squad goes deeper than just words.
