Baumgardner Eyes Taylor, Serrano, and Mayer Fights After Title Defence

Alycia Baumgardner has set her sights on fights against Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, and Mikaela Mayer.

The current unified super-featherweight champion has made it clear that these are her priority fights. “Those are all three great fights. Let’s get them all,” Baumgardner declared.

Baumgardner’s Focus on the Biggest Fights

Baumgardner is prioritising these high-profile matchups over a potential fight with Britain’s unified lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois.

According to Baumgardner, “I am chasing the biggest fights. Dubois is not ready. Is she hungry? Absolutely. Am I ducking smoke? No. I am aligned with the biggest fights possible, and that fight will happen when it happens.”

Title Defence Against Bo Mi Re Shin

Before she can pursue those fights, Baumgardner will defend her WBA, WBO and IBF super-featherweight titles against Bo Mi Re Shin.

The fight will take place at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. “One thing about Bo is that she’s coming to fight. She is a warrior, just as I know she is. But I’m hungrier, and I’m meaner, and I’m just sharper,” Baumgardner said.

Shin’s Determination to Win

Shin is determined to upset Baumgardner’s plans and take her titles. “Alycia was my goal. She has always been, but now it’s time to take her belts for me,” Shin stated.

Despite respecting Baumgardner’s abilities, Shin believes she has the edge. “I have a great respect for Baumgardner. She has a great style of boxing. She’s a strong fighter, but I believe I have more perseverance, and I will show you.”

Baumgardner is focused on bringing a more aggressive approach to the fight. “I know that I can do three-minute [rounds], so now I want to bring in the other parts of me that I know that I can bring out. And that’s just the meaner side, the more aggressive side, the hungrier side, the go-get-it side. That’s what I’m aiming for for fight night.”
