Fernando Alonso will not be participating in the press day ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.
The Aston Martin F1 Team driver will also miss the first free practice session.
Alonso’s Absence Explained
Aston Martin F1 Team addressed the situation via social media, explaining the reasons behind Alonso’s absence.
The team confirmed that Alonso’s absence is due to personal family reasons and that he will join the team later.
“Fernando will arrive a little later this weekend for personal family reasons and will not attend the Japanese Grand Prix press day. All is well and he will be at the circuit in time for Friday,” the team stated on its official X (Twitter) account.
Crawford to Drive in First Practice
The British team also confirmed that Jak Crawford will take over Alonso’s car during the first free practice session.
