Aliyah Boston Signs Record Deal with Indiana Fever

Aliyah Boston has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Indiana Fever, worth $6.3 million. Her agent, Zack Miller, confirmed the agreement, noting it gives Boston the richest total salary in WNBA history to date.

Boston’s Lucrative Extension

Boston was eligible for this pay increase due to a new provision in the league’s recently ratified collective bargaining agreement. Because she had previously earned an All-WNBA selection, she was able to effectively replace what she was set to earn in 2026 by signing the extension, allowing her an accelerated path to earning the max.

Boston will earn $1 million in 2026. This is lower than the standard $1.19 million max deal she was eligible for, as she chose to take less money to help the Fever pay others on their roster. She will then earn 20% of the cap in each subsequent season through 2029.

Fever Building Around Key Players

The Indiana Fever have sought to build their team around Boston, fellow No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark, and star guard Kelsey Mitchell. Mitchell, a free agent, just signed a one-year deal at the supermax to return to Indiana.

Boston’s Impact

Since being selected No. 1 overall by the Fever in 2023, Boston has averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. She has also shot 54.7% during that time.

Boston is coming off a career season. She tied for sixth in MVP voting, while also earning all-defensive and all-WNBA second-team nods.

Fever’s Recent Performance

Despite dealing with a host of injuries, the Fever made a surprising run to the semifinals in 2025. They ultimately fell to the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces.

Boston’s new contract signifies the Fever’s commitment to building a competitive team around her, Clark, and Mitchell.
