Alabama basketball player Aden Holloway was arrested on Monday morning.
A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa police department confirmed the arrest.
Details of the Arrest
Agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force conducted a search of a residence in the 400 block of 30th Avenue East on Monday morning, according to the spokesperson.
The agents recovered more than a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia and cash.
Holloway, 21, was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp.
He was transported to Tuscaloosa County jail on Monday morning, and bond was set at $5,000.
Holloway’s Recent Traffic Stop and Team Ranking
According to the Tuscaloosa police spokesperson, Holloway was involved in a traffic stop last week by University of Alabama police.
Holloway, a junior, ranks second on Alabama in averaging 16.8 points per game.
Upcoming Game
Alabama plays a first-round NCAA tournament game on Friday afternoon against Hofstra in Tampa.
The University of Alabama did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
